Here's a couple of pics of my daily driver-'81 4cyl,4spd.
Almost sold it about a month ago but the 49" total snowfall last
month changed my mind.

 Here is a new
picture from Matt. (Sent by Matt, added 4/28/2004)
Here is Matt's story about the Kammback.
Sadly my Kammback is rotting away as I don't have time or money to fix
it. Could you please change Dave Koenig's name to mine? I bought the car
from him over two years ago.
Two summers ago, I showed the car to a friend of mine who had never
seen anything like it, and I was bragging about the 7" of ground
clearance. He didn't believe me, so I took it off the road and onto some
harsh terrain. It did fine until the front crossmember discovered a vent
stack sticking up about 10" above the ground plane, surrounded by grass.
The car was pretty rusty when I bought it from Mr. Koenig, and when the
crossmember hit the vent stack, some large, dangerous holes in the frame
became apparent. I cannot weld, and cannot afford to have anyone else weld
it at this point, so It's sitting behind my shop rotting. I tried to start
it up and make sure the engine is still in good shape two weeks ago, and
the entire electrical system needs to be rewired, the whole thing is a
dead short. My Jeep project is almost done, and next I am going to convert
my '88 wagon to a manual transmission and a transfercase that actually has
the viscous coupling, and after that maybe I can start tearing apart the
Kammback for a complete rebuild. I will probably convert it to a 258, I
have a few spare engines laying around. My ultimate goal was to put a
turbocharged 258 in it, but the way my job is going lately I don't know
that that'll ever happen. (The tool and die business is in really sad
shape right now) Right now the only decent pictures I have of the car are
the same ones that are on your website, and maybe one that Mr. Koenig used
when he listed the car on eBay. Attached is a picture of it under a car
cover, where it rests now. You wouldn't believe how many people drive by
and then stop and say "Hey is that a Gremlin under there? I used to have
one!" If you know of anyone that wants to buy a Kammback in really sad
shape for $1000 let me know. This is an outrageous price, but I could
never sell it for less. When the car is driveable it's almost more fun to
drive around than my Jeep.
