August 18th 2005 - Returning Triumphant!
Rautanyrkki 5 is now over and I did way better than I expected! I won the 4th place in Guilty Gear X2 #Reload, 3rd place in Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike and 2nd place in Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution! Crazy stuff! My hands were shaking awfully when I got the place in the final match. I couldn't win my opponent once but I didn't expect that much. More info 'bout the tournaments here.
Besides the tournament I had casual matches at most of the good old 2D fighters such as Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Samurai Shodown II, Garou: Mark of the Wolves and many others. I had never played some of them against good players before and it was a lot of fun. I hadn't ever played Garou before and now I'm waiting to play it again. It's pretty damn good game!
I also played T5 and VF4E and I had good fights at both of them. I'm still learning to play T5 and that's why I tried to play it with different people to learn stuff. I think I'm at least a bit better than before now.
I stayed at the venue from friday evening to sunday afternoon and I didn't sleep at all during that time! When I came home I slept for 12 hours. That's why I couldn't write down anything after returning.
I'm going to begin training new stuff right away to keep up my skills and mayby I'll do even better at the next gathering. We'll see that next january when Rautanyrkki 6 is held. I'll be waiting for it.
