Map of North Island (sorry, but my map creating skills aren't the worlds best):

Map Key:
The map is more complicated than in the last couple of RPs. However, the only real changes are an extra couple of locations, a reference grid and distinctions between road types
The map has a grid to make it easier to specify location if not near a town - just use it as you would any other. Treat each square as one square kilometre. On foot, one square could be crossed in 20 to 30 minutes
The red lines represent more major roads. The yellow lines are off-road tracks, but are fairly easily traversed. There are small roads and paths elsewhere, they are harder to traverse, but are not shown.
There are some hydrofoil services that carry people and vehicles around the coast (i.e. between 1,2,4 and 8)
Notes about the map: There is no direct path between 3 and 7, but there is a tunnel between 5 and 8 (shown as a dotted line). Roads appear to meet in square D5 - There is no direct route in between them for larger vehicles, but could be done on a bike/on foot.
Weather: The weather on North Island is generally clear and sunny, but conditions occasionally worsen to storms and rain. During reasonable weather, a good radio will be able to broadcast from one side of the Island to the other, but storm conditions prevent this.
1- The small port town, Helna. This is a tourist location, so few of the shops are of much use to a warrior. Good place to hide - you'll blend in.
2- Main town, Alsted. There are lots of useful shops here - DIY (for homemade bits), food, and much more. If you want something, probably your best place to be.
3- Lakeside town, Newfield. Very nice views and good water sports. The hotels here are nicer than elsewhere, but also more booked. The lake (Lake Newfield, surprisingly enough)
4- Abandoned town, Leighton. Was deserted due to supply failures. Gas, water and electric supplies were cut by an unknown party. Supplies recently resumed, but mass looting and arson have dissuaded many from returning yet.
5- Former Military training ground. However, the military forces on the island were re-located to a hidden location on a different island, so the barracks and training houses have been sold on to the public. Some training houses have been partly destroyed.
6 - General town, Cowground. The people of Cowground haven't gone for the tourist attitude of the rest of the island. They are suspicious, but know a lot.
7 - General town, Highfield. Highfield was originally formed as a hunting rest, but has developed over the centuries to what is today. Due to it's location, it is a good place to work from when searching the nearby mountain (called Yern) and woods.
8 - Seaside town, Beachview. Excellent views of the sea and a nice beach make this area busy during summer, but also a good place to hide due to tourists, but has some useful shops.
If you want something, then it may well be possible to buy, hire, borrow or steal it from the right location. (i.e. if you want a quad bike, you could go and hire one. [or steal it])
