![]() KUNDALINI YOGA
Taught for thousands of years--and revealed
to the West in recent decades by the Master Yogi Bhajan--
Kundalini Yoga is suprisingly simple to learn. Practiced regularly, Kundalini Yoga can strengthen the nervous system, balance the glandular system, and harness the energy of the mind and emotion as well as the body. While general yoga techniques focuse on exercise postures and breathing, Kundalini takes the yoga concept a step further by integrating it into everyday life activities. Kundalini Yoga was kept secret for many years. Yogis, for thousands of years, preserved and carefully guarded the knowledge of the innner and outer workings of the human being, selecting chosen disciples which interacted with the Master. Traditionally, those disciples had to spend many years proving their trustworthiness and ethical purity in order to receive the sacred science of Kundalini Yoga. Only after the student demonstrated humility, self-discipline and obedience would the Teacher reveal the sacred Kryias. In 1969, Yogi Bhajan challenged the age-old traditions of secrecy and started teaching Kundalini Yoga publicly in the West. He wants us to stop suffering, to see our reality of inner beauty and power, he wants us to discover our potential. The world we know changes constantly and we have to be prepared to make transitions smoothly and for that we need to be strong and aware. As he has said "What used to work, won't work anymore". This is a yoga for the householder, for people who face daily challenges and stresses in holding jobs, raising families, managing businesses. It gives results in the shortest possible time. Kundalini Yoga enables you to merge with the universal self. It is not a religion, it is sacred, scientific, and leads to a state of self-awareness and self-mastery. There are many different schools of yoga; those who practice yoga are called yogis, those who master yoga are also called yogis. The technology of Kundalini Yoga applies its science to our bodies and minds, it is aimed at the Spirit, which has no boundaries, no discrimination, no limitations. It is Universal. NERVE OF THE SOUL (Yogi Bhajan): "Yes, kundalini is known as the nerve of the soul. This is to be
awakened. Your soul is to be awakened. When soul gets awakened, there
remains nothing. What else is there? ... all it is, creating the prana
in the cavity and mixing it with apana and taking down (as we give
pressure to the oil) and bringing the oil up. This is kundalini. That's
it..."
